Since its foundation Cotecno has acquired a great deal of experience in projects aimed at institution-building/strengthening to various institutions and in different sectors, particularly looking to improve their organisational efficiency and the quality of the services they provide.

The range of measures undertaken has gradually expanded to include technical assistance to national institutions to improve the planning and provision of services as well as designing, processing and implementing governmental sector-wide strategies and policies.
In particular, Cotecno can boast a great experience in the following activities:

• human resources development;
  
• organizational development, including the elaboration of policy papers, management structures and processes as well as procedures’ manuals, not only within single bodies but also among different organizations and sectors;
  
• institutional and legal framework development, by making legal and regulatory changes to enable organizations, institutions and agencies to enhance their capacities.
  

More recently, Cotecno has expanded its experience paying a growing attention to the importance of:

• strengthening the rule of law (through encouraging a fair access to justice for all as well as improving labour relations and social dialogue, through researches and analysis, studies, technical assistance and training);
  
• implementing active employment policies-related projects (in Italy and abroad, by delivering a wide range of services aimed at labour insertion mainly of disadvantaged groups).
  

In this particular framework the company, in the last few years, has been implementing specialized technical assistance projects, among the others:

• EC/“Support to the Ministry of Labour, Social Solidarity and Family to design and implement employment policy” in Romania (2005 - 2006);
  
• EC/“Labour legislation and arbitration” in the Russian Federation (2003 - 2005);
  
• EC/“Support to social reform implementation and labour relations (social partnership and labour disputes)” in the Russian Federation (1999 - 2001);
  
• EC/“MEDA Team – Project cycle management support to the EC Delegation” in Lebanon (1998 – 2001);
  
• EC/“Upgrading the capability and efficiency of the Russian Ministry of Labour” in the Russian Federation (1997 - 2000).
